It was just another boring day at work. I was mindlessly scrolling through social media when I saw a post that caught my attention. It was a screen shot of a website with an image of a box. It was just a plain cardboard box with no label or anything of significance on it. I couldn't help but wonder what was inside.
I tried to click on the image to see if there was any information on it, but it was just a static image. I felt a sudden urge to figure out what was inside that box. I couldn't concentrate on anything else for the rest of the day.
As soon as I got home, I sat down at my computer and started digging. I searched for the website, but it was nowhere to be found. I tried every possible combination of keywords that I could think of, but all I found were images of boxes - none of which were the one I was looking for.
I was about to give up when I remembered a friend of mine who worked in the movie industry. I quickly shot her a message and asked if she knew anything about the box. To my surprise, she responded within minutes.
"Hey! I actually worked on the movie that used that box as a prop. It's a mystery box that is supposed to represent something that the main character is searching for. I'm not sure if the website is still up, but I can ask around."
I couldn't believe it. The box was actually a prop for a movie. I felt a little silly for obsessing over it, but at the same time, I was relieved to finally have an answer.
The next day, my friend messaged me again. "Okay, so I talked to some people and apparently the website is still up. It's a promotional site for the movie. I'll send you the link."
I eagerly clicked on the link and there it was - the box. But this time, there was more information. The website had a countdown clock and a message that read, "The mystery will be revealed in 24 hours."
I couldn't wait. I set an alarm on my phone and waited anxiously for the next day to arrive. I refreshed the page multiple times throughout the day, but nothing changed.
Finally, the moment arrived. The countdown clock hit zero and the screen refreshed. A video started playing and I watched in anticipation.
It was a trailer for the movie. The main character was searching for something that was hidden in a box. The mystery box. The trailer ended with the words, "What's in the box?" and the release date of the movie.
I couldn't believe it. All of that anticipation for a movie trailer. But at the same time, I was excited. I had never heard of the movie before, but now I was definitely going to see it.
I closed my laptop and went to bed, feeling satisfied that I had finally solved the mystery of the box.
